Show WiFi Password in OS X

If you forgot your WiFi password and need show it, there’s a super simple way to do this on a Mac.  I’m pretty sure you can’t do this in Windows.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to your applications folder
  2. Click on the Utilities folder
  3. Click on the “Keychain Access” App
  4. On the left-hand side, highlight the “System” keychain
  5. Select “Passwords” under the category
  6. Double-click on the Airport network password you want to remember
  7. Select the “Show password” checkbox
  8. Enter your administrator username and password (you may have to do this twice)
  9. See the password in the “show password” field.
See, now that’s easy!

  1. haha

  2. 9 steps later, I say to myself:
He’s right, in Windows you can’t click on the Utilitiers folder in your Applications folder because you don’t have an Applications folder. You can’t click on Keychain Access because you don’t have it, so steps 4-9 are also impossible. But, what you can do is click the “Show Password” checkbox under the password field and *BAM* there’s your password.
