The Atlanta airport is the busiest airport in the world. There are 6 bustling terminals with a new one being added soon. No matter what time you fly into ATL, you’re bound to see thousands of people. It’s a bit nerve racking. I’ve seen normal looking people lose it in the gate areas. I have no doubt the hectic, crazy atmosphere is a huge factor. I have a remedy for the airport’s craziness. Cafe Intermezzo. Like the musical term it comes from, Intermezzo is a wonderful interlude during your travels.
Since I fly a lot, I normally frequent the Delta Sky Clubs. These places are great to sit back, relax, and enjoy some peace and quiet. But when I have long enough in ATL, I ALWAYS stop by Cafe Intermezzo in the terminal B atrium.
They serve wonderful breakfast from Crepes to Omelets. I don’t drink coffee, but I hear it’s great. I always get the loose leaf tea brewed right at the table. I’ve probably eaten here 10 times and never had a bad meal or bad tea. Lunch and Dinner options are just as good. They have something for everyone, from the health conscious vegetarian to the fine diner.
The service is awesome and the window tables overlook all the big planes driving/flying by. The terminal tables overlook the bustling atrium. Watching people race by with their belongings messily in tow while I sip on Oolong tea makes me feel like all of my cares are whisked away. The prices are really reasonable. Two can eat for $25 easily.
Oh, and did I mention the crepes? FANTASTIC!
